  1. A minor clarification of the above list - David Elfstrom is a fantastic sustainable mechanical engineer who knows everything you didn't know to ask about energy efficiency, solar, sustainable building AND integrating sustainable mechanical systems.

    He is not an Architect.

  2. You Know, my thought is; what is architecture nowadays or at least what should it be?
Is it a training background? Is it an education? ARe they owners nowadays? Are the real architects the developers and the homeowners wanting their vision manifested.

    Who drives the decision making?

Do Architects make better buildings or do they follow our lead as it should be as owners and citizens of the planet?

Wall Assemblies: WHat happens to moisture when it's trapped behind spray foam insulation and why is my double brick masonry structure and shell spalling?

Because, we should really stick the insulation on the outside and use the brick as thermal mass and install one of those Temp Cast Masonry Heater in your basement with an ventilation route that filters the house.
An exhaust at the roof and top-down airconditioning. Install those solar summer shading devices always and buil in solar thermal arrays to boost your heating-water heating system and incorporate boilers, rads or radiant tubing. A little on-demand back-up or something similar.
